Yesterday, Tuesday (May 3, 2022), Lily Belle went to the vet for a pregnancy radiograph / puppy count. The vet tech came in and said, "Lily definitely has puppies." A few moments later the Vet came in and said I counted four puppies for sure. She took Lily back and attempted a second X-Ray with Lily on her back. When she returned, she said looks like five puppies. A physician for humans looked at the X-Ray and counted five. Another Vet, who is a friend, said five for sure maybe six puppies. And a breeder of Springer Spaniels looked and thought she saw six.

So for the time being, we are going with five puppies. Perhaps, we will be surprised at the delivery time with another puppy. Depending on how cooperative the puppies are and or how empty the mother's intestines are, it can be difficult to get an exact puppy count from an X-Ray. At the time of the ultrasound, the Vet thought he saw six puppies. However, ultrasounds are even more difficult than an X-Ray to get an accurate puppy count.

Lily Belle is expected to deliver on Saturday or Sunday (or over both days). So in addition to the flower litter, it maybe the Mothers' Day litter, too.
