Last weekend, Aster — a six month old Springer Spaniel — had the opportunity to flush two pheasants.

Gateway Upland Hunt Test September 2022
On September 10-11, 2022, The Gateway Upland Hunt Club held a hunt test for Spaniels at the junior, senior, and master levels. Spaniel Water Work
Last weekend, we had the opportunity to practice water work for an AKC Spaniel Hunt Test. Fergus, the field spaniel, and Lily Belle, an English Springer Spaniel, practice retrieving a bird on a pond. Aster, the puppy, practices swimming.
Upland Training — Teaching A Dog To Quarter
The Gateway Upland Hunt Club took a break from flushing birds to work on basic upland skills with their dogs. This past weekend we focused on training the dogs to do quartering. The short video shows how we trained the dogs to quarter.
Mid-Winter Upland Training
