Today, Lily Belle received her Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) title. Rally is an AKC dog sport that requires obedience and teamwork between the dog and handler. The AKC began its rally program in 2005. The course consists 10-20 signs that are placed in an obedience ring.

These are examples of some rally signs. There are more than 100 different signs. You can read about AKC Rally here.

There are several titles one can receive in Rally — Novice (RN), Intermedia (RI), Advanced (RA), Excellent (RE), Master (RM), Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE), and Rally Master (RM). A team also can receive a Rally Champion (RACH).

Lily got involved in Rally during the Covid-19 pandemic. Prior to Covid-19, Lily was working on obedience. She received her Novice Obedience / Companion Dog (CD) prior to Covid. She was working at the next level of obedience, when covid cancelled virtually every dog show around the country. The AKC induced virtual Rally, where courses would be provided online and you could record your performance on video, submit it to the AKC and receive a score. So, during the height of the pandemic Lily learned rally. Once dog shows resumed, Lily started competing in shows again.

In any case, today Lily received her Rally Advance Excellent (RAE) title. This required her to have 10 qualifying scores in Rally Excellent and Advanced Trials in the same trail show. In other words, she competed 20 times at two different levels and qualified to receive the title.

The master title requires 10 qualifying scores. the Rally Championship requires 20 triple qualifying scores and 300 points (150 points from Master level and 150 points from Excellent and Advanced).

Lily is working toward a Rally championship. Today, she received the RAE.
